Instabase Welcomes Facebook’s Yee Jiun Song as Senior Vice President of Engineering
Instabase is and will always be an engineering-driven company where we place major bets on the future of computing. One of the long-term goals we have set for ourselves is: “build an operating system that will fundamentally change how people develop and consume business apps”.
Over the past 5 years, every year we have become more and more convinced that an end-user distributed operating system (like Instabase) will be the next major offshoot of the operating systems. It has the potential to become a major computing platform in its own right, and will have an ecosystem that will only find its boundaries as we explore it over the years to come. On this journey, it’s critical that we have great engineering leadership in place.
That’s why today, we’re thrilled to announce Yee Jiun Song as our Senior Vice President of Engineering. Yee Jiun will lead our engineering organization and serve as a member of the Leadership Team, reporting into CEO and Founder Anant Bhardwaj.
Yee Jiun comes from Facebook where he spent 11 years, most recently as Vice President of Engineering, bringing deep technical and operational experience to Instabase. He first joined Facebook as a Research Scientist and worked on a variety of engineering problems, including many critical systems at the core of Facebook’s infrastructure. Through his tenure at Facebook, Yee Jiun grew to manage a team of nearly 1,000 people and helped scale Facebook’s infrastructure systems and engineering organization to what they are today.
Yee Jiun’s expertise will be invaluable for Instabase, helping us execute on our mission of “advancing the state of the art in computing to help humanity solve their most important problems”.
